For two decades, Automated Container has been the leader in safety protected aluminum easy open ends. Now, through our affiliation with Crown Cork and Seal, we can offer a much broader variety of ends which fall into four groups: Safety Protected Ends, Processable Ends, Special Shapes and Pour Spout Ends. We can meet virtually any easy open end need except for packaging beer and carbonated beverages.

SAFETY PROTECTED ENDS

Single Safety Ends

The major safety concern with easy open ends comes after the cans are opened. When consumers reach into cans, a sharp edge around the opening can be dangerous. On SAFERIM and RIMSAFE ends, a fold adjacent to the rim edge means that no sharp metal is exposed. This means that the danger of cuts or scratches in extracting can contents is totally eliminated. On TRIPLEFOLD ends, the safety protection is on the edge of the removed center panel, so that consumers will not cut themselves on this disposable panel.

Applications include nuts, powdered infant food formulas, shoe polish, assorted snack foods, tennis balls and powdered beverages. Many of these ends are also available with thicker gauges of aluminum for vacuum packing.

Double Safety Ends

DOUBLESAFE and Tara-Tara ends offer the ultimate in safety. Both the edge of the opening and the edge of the removed of the removed center panel are protected by folds so that no sharp metal edges are exposed. These products have been proven with no problems in a wide variety of filling operations including cream cheese, avocados, nuts, assorted snack foods and powdered infant foods. Many of these ends are also available for vacuum application.

Sizes: 65, 73 and 99 mm.

Processable Ends

As part of Crown Cork and Seal's worldwide network we now offer a variety of steel and aluminum easy open ends which are suitable for processed foods.

Sizes: 55 to 99 mm.

Steel Ends

From plants in six countries we offer the finest steel easy open ends, including the highly touted EOLE end. EOLE is a truly easy opening steel end. The required pull force has been reduced from 7 kgs. to 4 kgs. In addition, all of the steel ends are coated via a multi lacquering process which protects the score and tabs from corrosion.

Sizes: 65, 73, 83 and 99 mm.

Aluminum Ends

In addition to the processable steel ends, we offer a cast array of aluminum processable easy open ends. These ends are made in several locations around the world.

Sizes: 55, 63, 64, 65, 71.5 and 73 mm.

Specially Shaped Ends

Automated Container offers a wide array of special shapes in aluminum easy open ends. These ends have been used to package canned hams, coffees, sardines, SPAM and corned beef to name a few.

Sizes: 98 x 53mm, 98 x 54mm, 96 x 59mm, 99 x 46mm, 102 x 64mm, 104 x 59.8mm, 105 x 76mm, 148 x 81 mm and 148 x 96mm.

Many of these ends are suitable for processed foods. In addition we offer a steel 77mm x 60mm end specially designed for corned beef cans to replace the current key opening end because of the global concerns for consumer safety.

Pour Opening Ends

Many of our can making and food packing customers require a pour opening end: Automotive aftermarket products, liquid concentrates, food grade oils and fruit juices are just some of the applications using pour spout ends.
